7 (d.H.) regular Reflection
In the choppy water, you do not see a clear reflection of the person
in the boat. But in the smooth water, you see a sharp reflection. The two ways in which a surface can reflect light are regular reflection and diffuse reflection.
Regular Reflection
When parallel rays of light hit a smooth surface, regular reflection occurs. All of the light rays are reflected at the same angle because of the smooth surface. So, you see a sharp reflection.
Diffuse Reflection
When parallel rays of light hit a bumpy or uneven surface, diffuse reflection occurs. Each ray reflects at a different angle, and you don’t see a clear reflection.
