Vincent gets best JV duel match against Westside.  With only one month of practice (ever) he performed a Granby to a Peterson.

Newcomer Award- Vincent Trihn

Vincent is a true newcomer (with no club wrestling), that took to wrestling like a duck to water.  He has great feel for scoring from the bottom position.

Best Tournament- Hector Mora

Hector's Bishop Newman Tournament wrestling was the "talk" in the coaches room by referee as well as coaches from opposing teams. Way to represent Pius X and make your teammates better.

Newcomer Award- Jared Hobelman

Jared gets the most escaped on the JV team.  With the help of his bother Caleb and Noah, he has improved his mental toughness in wrestling. I am vet proud of him and his family.

Newcomer Award - Paul Sobansky

Paul has an enormous potential in this sport. He has great natural defense and an instinct to counters his opponents moves. Paul also shows great strength and balance.  His strength on the mat complements him on the football and lacrosse fields.

Hardest Working JV Wrestler-
Noah Hobelman

Noah's wit and humor makes the season enjoyable, but his effort is a phenomenal.  He always works hard both during and after practice.  However, at competition his effort is at another level as several times he worked past the point of exhaustion.

Toughest JV Wrestler- Hector Mora

Hector earns toughest wrestler award for his intensity and extreme enthusiasm to be the best wrestler possible.  He has extraordinary off-season dedication and commitment.  As a result Hector is developing a one-of-a-kind wresting style that wins matches as he earns the Most Wins, Pins, and Team Points on JV. He loves this sport.

Most Improved JV Wrestler- Alex Wehling

Alex has an amazing perspective on life and genuine kindness to everyone.  His nonstop fluidity in his wrestling style has allowed him to win position when out of position.  With this, Alex has won varsity matches, earns both Most JV Near Falls and Reversals Awards as well as respect from anyone watching him wrestle.

Outstanding JV Wrestler- Will Martin

Will Martin wrestled up, challenged, and filled in for varsity placing 5th at the Burke Varsity Tournament.   He went unbeaten in almost all of his JV tournaments further securing the most Takedowns on JV.   His jaw-dropping intensity in the room speaks for itself.

Coach Nickman says "I would give Hardest Working to Will Martin, he was always filling in at a weight class or two above he was one of the consistent off-season-guys and consistently one of the last guys off the mat after a practice. I think he deserves this award and expect big things out of him next season.
